Terms of Service

These Terms explain the rules for using Imba Yedu. We have written them in plain language so that renters, property representatives, hosts, informal workers, registered businesses, and other members can understand the same agreement.

Imba Yedu · Marketplace boundary

Imba Yedu does not collect rent, deposits, booking proceeds, or service-provider payouts. Payments made to Imba Yedu are for platform products and services.

IY / 01

Agreement and who we are

Imba Yedu operates the marketplace available at imba-yedu.co.zw and related web, mobile, and messaging experiences. You can contact us at hello@imba-yedu.co.zw.

By creating or using an account, you agree to these Terms and any policies expressly incorporated into them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information; it is a notice, not blanket consent to every type of processing.

IY / 02

Eligibility and capacity

You must have legal capacity to enter this agreement and must provide accurate information. Where a young person or another person lacks legal capacity, an authorised parent, guardian, or adult representative must act where applicable under law.

You may not impersonate another person, create an account using information you are not entitled to use, or misrepresent your age, identity, authority, qualifications, or relationship to a property or business.

IY / 03

Our marketplace role

Imba Yedu helps users discover and communicate about property, short stays, and home services. Unless we explicitly state otherwise for a particular product, Imba Yedu is not the property owner, landlord, tenant, host, guest, employer, employee, estate agent, contractor, insurer, escrow provider, or a party to an agreement made between users.

Users decide whether to deal with one another and are responsible for the terms, suitability, legality, and performance of their off-platform arrangements.

IY / 04

Rent and off-platform payments

Imba Yedu does not currently collect or hold rent, deposits, short-stay booking proceeds, or payments owed to home-service providers. Before paying another user, independently confirm the recipient, their authority, the property or service, and the agreed payment terms.

Fees for Imba Yedu products are separate from money paid to another user. A receipt for a subscription, boost, credit, or application service is not proof that rent, a deposit, or a provider fee has been paid.

IY / 05

Accounts and security

Keep your email address and phone number current, protect your password and verification codes, and tell us promptly if you suspect account compromise. You are responsible for activity under your account unless applicable law provides otherwise.

We may restrict duplicate accounts, coordinated fraud, account sharing, or attempts to avoid a suspension or safety control. Do not sell, transfer, or lend your account to another person.

IY / 06

Property listings and authority

You may list a property you own or one you are genuinely authorised to advertise. Authorised friends or family members, agents, managers, and tenants with permission may list on behalf of another person, but must describe that relationship honestly.

Listing details, price, location, availability, photographs, amenities, and restrictions must be accurate and current. We may ask for evidence of ownership or authority and may hide or remove stale, misleading, duplicated, or unauthorised listings.

IY / 07

Home Services

Independent and informal providers are welcome. You do not need to claim or establish a registered business unless you choose to present yourself as one. Providers are independent and are not Imba Yedu employees, workers, or agents.

Describe your skills and experience truthfully. Do not claim a licence, certificate, registration, insurance policy, or qualification you do not hold. We may request category-specific evidence where a service presents greater safety or regulatory risk.

IY / 08

Identity and trust checks

To protect the marketplace, we may request identity, qualification, business, or property-authority information. Passing a check means only that the stated check was completed; it does not guarantee conduct, quality, ownership, safety, or future performance.

Trust labels must reflect checks rather than payment for prominence. If identity verification involves biometric or facial information, we will provide a separate just-in-time notice and request consent where required. Agreement to these Terms is not biometric consent.

IY / 09

User interactions and safety

Inspect a property where practical, ask for evidence, verify who is authorised to receive money, keep written records, and use reasonable care before meeting or paying another person. Do not rely only on a badge, review, photograph, or message.

Report suspected scams, impersonation, threats, unsafe properties, or unauthorised listings. In an emergency, contact the appropriate emergency service or public authority first.

IY / 10

Subscriptions, boosts and credits

Prices and the product being purchased will be shown before payment. Platform products may include subscriptions, boosts, listing or alert credits, verification or application services, and similar Imba Yedu features.

Renewal and cancellation terms apply only where displayed for the selected product. Refunds are governed by the policy shown at purchase, the circumstances of the transaction, and rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. Credits are non-cash and non-transferable unless we expressly say otherwise.

IY / 11

Your content

You retain ownership of content you submit. You give Imba Yedu a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, copy, format, display, distribute, and moderate that content only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and promote the marketplace and relevant listings.

You must have the rights and permissions needed for photographs, descriptions, personal information, reviews, and other content you upload. We may remove content that violates these Terms, infringes rights, creates risk, or is no longer relevant.

IY / 12

Prohibited conduct

You must not use Imba Yedu to:

  • scam, impersonate, deceive, threaten, or harass;
  • advertise a property or service without authority;
  • publish unlawful, discriminatory, exploitative, or infringing material;
  • upload malware, scrape or overload the service, evade rate limits, or interfere with security controls;
  • manipulate reviews, create false demand, abuse reporting, or coordinate fraudulent payments or chargebacks; or
  • use another person’s documents, identity, photographs, or contact details without a lawful basis and authority.

IY / 13

Reviews and communications

Reviews must describe genuine experiences and must not be bought, coerced, retaliatory, or misleading. We may moderate, limit, or remove reviews to protect integrity and safety.

We may send essential operational notices about security, account activity, listings, purchases, moderation, or these Terms. Promotional email or WhatsApp messaging is optional and uses separate preferences or consent; refusing marketing does not prevent ordinary account use.

IY / 14

Moderation, suspension and termination

We may review activity, request information, reduce visibility, reject or remove content, limit features, suspend accounts, or terminate access where reasonably necessary for safety, integrity, legal compliance, or enforcement of these Terms.

Where safe and practical, we will explain significant action and provide a way to respond or appeal. We may act immediately without advance notice where delay could expose a person, the platform, or evidence to serious risk. You may stop using the service and request account deletion subject to lawful retention requirements.

IY / 15

Privacy and data protection

Our Privacy Policy describes the personal information we collect, why we use it, who receives it, retention, security, and available rights. It is incorporated by reference as a notice. Where the law or a type of processing requires consent, we will request that consent separately.

Questions or requests about personal information may be sent to hello@imba-yedu.co.zw.

IY / 16

Third-party services

Imba Yedu may rely on payment gateways, communications providers, identity tools, maps, hosting, analytics, and other third-party services. Their own terms and privacy notices may apply when you interact with them.

We select and manage providers with reasonable care, but their systems may be outside our direct control. A link or integration does not mean we endorse every third-party product, person, listing, or statement.

IY / 17

Availability and changes

We aim to keep Imba Yedu reliable, but features may be changed, interrupted, restricted, or discontinued for maintenance, security, legal, commercial, or technical reasons.

If we materially change these Terms, we will give prominent notice and request acceptance of the new version before further authenticated use. We may communicate minor, non-material changes by notice without requiring a new acceptance.

IY / 18

Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by law, Imba Yedu provides a marketplace and does not promise that a user, listing, property, service, review, identity check, or off-platform transaction will be genuine, suitable, available, safe, lawful, or successful.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability, consumer rights, remedies, or duties that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Where liability may lawfully be limited, it will be limited only to the extent reasonable and permitted by applicable law, taking account of the nature of the service and the loss concerned.

IY / 19

Disputes and governing law

Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a complaint in good faith. This does not prevent you from reporting unlawful conduct, approaching a regulator, seeking urgent relief, or using any remedy available under mandatory law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe. Subject to any mandatory rights or jurisdiction, disputes may be brought before the competent courts of Zimbabwe. These Terms do not impose mandatory private arbitration.

IY / 20

Contact and complaints

For account questions, complaints, reports, moderation appeals, or legal notices, email hello@imba-yedu.co.zw. Include enough information for us to locate the relevant account, listing, or decision, but do not email passwords or one-time verification codes.
